The Virginia Living Museum is considered by many to be the best interactive natural museum in the entire Mid-Atlantic region. Situated between Hampton and Williamsburg, Newport News is an obvious location for culture and history. There are more than 30 parks in Newport News city limits, including Lee Hall Mansion, Endview Plantation, Huntington Park, several piers, and even a beach! Newport News Park is more than 7,500 acres, contains bike trails, hiking trails, disc golf courses, flying fields, fishing, floral gardens, camping areas, and even boat and bike rentals. The Noland Trail is a 5-mile trail runs through the park, with easy access points all the way around. Sure, we have the shipyard and all the commercial areas, but balancing that are parks such as the Mariner’s Museum Park, which is 550 acres of lush woodland. There are miles and miles of nature trails running through Newport News. ![]()
